标题: 未来的留学生想了解一下布里斯班 (^O^)/
大家好，我是来自加拿大的Alice.
我现在高三，想高中毕业去报考UQ.
我对布里斯班还不是很了解，希望可以来这里更好的了解一下这个城市。
对于以下的几个问题，希望大家可以帮我回答一下，帮帮我=D

1. 我和中介打听过，他们说一年在澳大利亚估计要花费2W左右澳币。大家觉得自己一年有花这么多么？（如果只有正常的花销，不算买名牌什么的哈）
2. 在论坛上我听说了在UQ附近的社区租房子比较贵，我想问问，贵是指大概多少$一个星期呢？
3. 不知道如果买车（2手的）一般要在什么价位呢？1个人开，所以小轿车之类的那种。
4. 请问那边汽车的油价大概是1升多少钱呢？
5. 如果学生想找Part time工作，好找么？最低工资是多少呢？（我是加拿大公民，在澳大利亚打工应该是没问题的）
6. 请问在那边，如果我有加拿大的驾照可以直接开么？(不好意思啊，我这问题好像比较白)
7. 驾驶年龄是多少？考完驾照可以直接开车了么？（我们这边是要先考Learners,等一年考7号牌才能开车的）
8. 如果开车去什么地方，一定要把车停到附近的停车场么？（我们这里有的时候可以停到路边几个小时不会罚钱的。我不是很了解澳大利亚）
9. UQ的中国朋友是不是很多呢？（很希望有很多中国朋友，感觉很亲切，想多交几个朋友XD）
10. 这个是我纯属好奇。为什么好多朋友都选择学经济，金融，会计一类的专业呢？在澳大利亚比较好找工作么还是有什么其他的原因呢？

*附属一个问题。希望去过凯恩斯的布里斯班朋友帮忙解答一下。
这两个城市我想一定是布里斯班综合来讲更好一些。
请问凯恩斯这个城市大家有什么看法呢？
因为我想报的专业如果没办法在UQ念，另一个选择是JCU。所以我也想了解一下凯恩斯

Yeah I know.
But the program I want to get into is Dental Science.
I'm not sure if I can make it into UQ.
My consultant said I would have a better chance at JCU, although I perfer UQ over JCU. >_<
Hopefully I can make it to UQ, then it'll be all good XD

Last time I checked it was like 60K per year? That's more than some private uni in US.
Gov. won't lend me that much loan. lol

加拿大的Quota很少，比较Competitive，而且不能高中直接Enter的。
需要念一些Pre-req课，一般要先上Science上3年左右才能进，然后每个学校多的也就70个位置左右，少的20多个位置。
非常难进的

Yeah. For students who want to study medicine or dentistry, government and the bank here provides loans. They only provide enough for me to survive in UQ and JCU. lol..Griffith is just too bizarre..that's too much for some middle income kid like me to handle..

Oh yeah, from what I saw from UQ's website for dental science admission for domestic students. They want Rank 99? What does that suppose to mean? Is that like super high grades? If you convert Rank 99 to a percent, what would it be? I'm just a bit curious.

I guess prestige does matter to some extent..but..I mean..people say patients really don't care where their dentist graduated from..as long as they could practice dentistry, it's all good..
I care more about living conditions and I guess some thing more realistic..

Oh yeah..I also would like to ask, is the university education really difficult? (Compare to Australia's high school education) In Canada, our high school education is much easier than University education, so for us, there would be a gap. So I'm just wondering if is the same for Aus.

Yeah, I have to write the ISAT this comming Apr/May.
Kinda nervous for that..Too bad there isn't much studying materials out there..
Why? Do you know anything about these 2 tests?

from my understanding, they are similar.
The workload is not too much Aus high school but students could feel stressful when they are taking mid-exams & essays at the same time.

Oh..I guess I can't really comment on that since I don't know anything about the workload in Aus high schools.

I've tried to search up information about the university education provided in Canada and Aus.
Then there's a comment saying that Aus's education is a piece of cake..That's what he literaly said..so..I don't know..
I hope it's not too bad there..
BTW, mind if I ask, how long have you been in Brisbane?

1. 租金st lucia单间150-200刀，所以房租一年下来就要1W左右，吃喝玩乐一年1W也是要的
2. 学校附近租金都贵，我想加拿大应该也是这样吧
3. 二手车ozyoyo就经常有人卖5k-1w能买辆不错的了，但应该没有在加拿大买车便宜
4. 布里斯班油价算比较贵的，最便宜的ULP1.3-1.4每升
5. 最低工资好像是14左右，只要英文够好，不去华人店14-20都有可能
6. 常住这里的话还是需要考昆州驾照的，国际驾照可以开三个月
7. 牌照也是从L牌起，再到红P和绿P牌，最后才是Open牌
8. 路边都会有标示告诉你能停多久，是否收费。路边有黄线的地方不能停车
9. UQ的中国学生挺多的，入学后可以参加各种社团
10. 澳洲有紧缺职业清单，比如会计就是一大移民专业。不过商科在欧美国家一向都是很火的，澳洲也同样如此

不是很懂。。
可以稍微帮我解释一下么？

有关驾照，获取了什么牌之后可以自己开车了呢？我们这边Learners需要有个有7号牌以上的人监督可以开..不知道Brisbane怎么样呢。

From L to P: You need to complete and record 100 hours of supervised driving practice (including 10 hours of night driving). Submit your logbook to Department of Transport and once they verify it you can go take the practical test which would give you a P Licence.

ISAT from the official website stands for International Student Admission Test then pretty much everything avaliable online is Illonis Standards Achievement Test..

—— 这个要看你是打算读那个学校了，UQ是比较贵的，一般学费在20000-25000. 生活费一般在10000-20000（这个完全就个人的消费能力决定，有钱人家的孩子不止这个数！）

楼上的回复已经很详细了,还是要加一些给楼主,如果楼主是学生VISA的话,每周只有20小时的打工时间.加拿大的驾照应该没问题但是澳大利亚是右手开车和英国一样,楼主最好还是找个人练习一下在上路.25岁以下的话汽车保险会很贵.个人感觉经纪类不太好找工作如果没有工作经验的话.

其实澳大利亚那边生活的标准和费用和加拿大这边真的是非常贴近啊。。
没想到那边最低工资那么高..
我们这里最近才涨到$9.4。。
我本以为不错呢..

亲说“如果你已经拿到驾照3年，在澳洲通过考试后可以直接还正式的！”
意思是说不管我拿到的驾照是哪里的，都要拥有3年以上才在澳洲考试然后开车么？还是说如果我有加拿大驾照，直接就可以开了呢？

开车是个难事啊..
不过我在加拿大也还没有开过..
只有Learner...
如果直接过去练就没事了..
不过据说还是先练练怎么开然后改位置相对容易些

Oh..
I actually didn't know that..although I've travelled there before..
There's plenty of Chinese's alright..I can't differenciate whether they are from mainland China or Hongkong or Taiwan..ect..
Isn't that the same for Brisbane?
The city I live in you don't see as much Chinese as if you were living in Richmond..

it's actually the same for Richmond..
I was kinda shocked when I arrived there..
but it's really convenient for Chinese people to communicate with each other.

嗯，他们官网说要什么Rank 99..
我也是一头雾水..
不过听中介跟我说要加拿大这边高中成绩6科平均95%+。。
其实我有吃不消..
估计我也只能勉强达到93-94%平均..
不知道有没有希望>_<

Yeah..
I get what you mean..
but it really is a controversy
it depends on the person.
I personally wouldn't mind
My friends here are not all Chinese, maybe only half of my friends are Chinese
I like varieties as well =D

就说第一条~一学期学四门课，一年就是8门课。UQ一门课学费3300澳币左右，一年就是3300*8=26400.澳洲本地学生的学费是我们国际留学生的三分之一~坑爹！！！

高中和大學始終差很多~~rank 99 ~~就是等於說OP1~~99/100分

很多人覺得進去難~~~但是進去容易出來更難~~我就是牙醫進去了~~被刷下來了

高中隨便讀點~~數學~物理~語言~~加分數到99分~~很容易

但是大學進去後~~一推要背~~英文是很重要的因素~~你自己參考一下~~

讀牙醫~~學費比正常貴1.5-2倍的價錢~~

建議你更好的~~如果你覺得成績不是頂尖的~~去GU

Oh ye, you will definitely make a LOT of Chinese friends here because Australians generally dont mingle with Asians, especially if you are a male, if you are a good looking female, there maybe other incentives for them to become your friend but generally not healthy ones, Aussies are not as friendly to Asians as Canadians or Americans and I believe you will notice it as soon as you arrive. I came from another English speaking country and I find a good portion of Aussie populations are rude, shallow and arrogant, which is confirmed by friends from US, South Africa and other places...however, this is not to say all Australians are of that nature, I have encountered serveral guys of good character but fewer compared to other western first world countries

Cost of living is very high here but $ 20000 a year for living expenses should be more enough as long as you avoid clubing, pubing and lot of traveling. On the flip side, with high cost of living comes high wages, if you work for reputable fast food chains such as Maccas or KFC, you could earn approx. $ 16 ph (thats what I heard), however if you go for dodgy Asian restaurants, you probably wont get paid more than $ 10 ph and be prepared to be treated like slaves...

Can not comment too much on dentistry as I am not from medical school but I heard Aus universities also has quota and it is extremly hard to complete, but once you are done, you are done for life! I suggest you seek professional feedbacks from the university instead of asking random ppl on a forum.

Also, stay away from business/commerce degrees, 9 out of 10 international students study those subjects, which leads to supply >>>>>> demand, actually now days a lot of Asian waiter / waitress in restaurant and cafes are graduate from accounting degree xD

Lastly, be aware UV radiation is very high in Australia, it is recommended to use umbrellas / sun screen / sun glasses when doing outdoor activities in the afternoon, stay out of the sun between 11 AM - 3 PM if possible, skin cancer is one of the biggest killer here.

1. 我和中介打听过，他们说一年在澳大利亚估计要花费2W左右澳币。大家觉得自己一年有花这么多么？（如果只有正常的花销，不算买名牌什么的哈）
算上学费绝对不止，学费一年就已经$25000，生活费的话差不多，如果你不打工的话。

2. 在论坛上我听说了在UQ附近的社区租房子比较贵，我想问问，贵是指大概多少$一个星期呢？
住的舒服的价位在$130~$180

3. 不知道如果买车（2手的）一般要在什么价位呢？1个人开，所以小轿车之类的那种。
根据我homestay的经验，$7000以下的二手车不建议买，一般$7000+

5. 如果学生想找Part time工作，好找么？最低工资是多少呢？（我是加拿大公民，在澳大利亚打工应该是没问题的）
如果你的英语是母语的话，很好找。法定最低工资15澳元，but if u work for chinese，大部分薪水在$7~$10，一周只能打工20小时

9. UQ的中国朋友是不是很多呢？（很希望有很多中国朋友，感觉很亲切，想多交几个朋友XD）
UQ随处可见中国人

10. 这个是我纯属好奇。为什么好多朋友都选择学经济，金融，会计一类的专业呢？在澳大利亚比较好找工作么还是有什么其他的原因呢？
因为会计是可以移民的专业，金融是中国社会喜欢的专业。

Holly..I've heard Aussie are kind of hard to deal with before..but..I've had a Aussie friend in Canada who went back to Australia for university. She's super friendly and nice..After I met her, I thought Aussies aren't bad at all..then now..ahhh...I guess I'll just have to see it myself then..lol

Thanks for all your advices..hmm..regarding " seek professional feedbacks from the university", do you suggest that I call UQ and find out or? I'm not really sure who to contact for further information..

好像澳大利亚的生活比我们这边还稍微要贵一点呢。
唉。。要是真去那边学习了估计这辈子要被贷款缠身了。。笑..

学习了。没想到澳大利亚那边麦当劳待遇那么好..
我们这边都是给最低工资的..大家都不愿意去..
不知道如果我在这边的麦当劳做过，去那边应聘人家会不会承认我这边的经验..
我也不太知道那边的麦当劳是不是和这边有很大的不同..
