Brisbane City Council will go it alone in funding a pedestrian bridge from Kangaroo Point to the CBD.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk made the vow on Wednesday, after it was revealed in civic cabinet on Tuesday the Newman government had no plans to fund cross-river bridges in Brisbane.
Asked by Fairfax Media where council would seek alternative funding to construct the bridge following the state government's revelation, Cr Quirk said, "nowhere".
